Covenant House New Jersey (CHNJ) received the 2022 Non-Profit Organization of the Year award from The Eastern Monmouth Area Chamber of Commerce (EMACC). EMACC recognizes businesses that go “above and beyond” for the community at the Spinnaker Awards dinner. This year, members of CHNJ received this prestigious award for our work in Monmouth County.
At CHNJ, we help youth facing homelessness and human trafficking throughout the state and have been working tirelessly in Monmouth County. In 2012, the Asbury Park Drop-In Center opened its doors. Since then, we have built two Rights of Passage centers, housing five males and five females. We also provide many services in Monmouth County and throughout the state to teach resilience. These skills help our clients transition to independent living. The past few years have been challenging for all businesses. But, with help from our neighbors and supporters, we were able to keep our doors open during Covid-19. We never stopped serving our community.
EMACC was founded in Red Bank in 1928. EMACC has helped member businesses by teaching skills through seminars, legislative work, promotional support, and referral services for nearly a century. Moreover, the member-driven organization offers resources and creates initiatives, programs, products, and events to help community businesses become successful and contribute to community members.
