Expanding our anti-Human Trafficking Advisory Services with RWJBarnabas Health

Through the work of CHART – Covenant House Action Research Tank, Covenant House NJ (CHNJ) is expanding our anti-human trafficking advisory services. The latest initiative is with RWJBarnabas Health here in NJ that is a recipient of a $500,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, Administration for Children and Families (ACF), Office on Trafficking in Persons (OTIP). RWJBarnabas Health will be drawing upon our expertise in screening and identification protocols, and referring newly identified survivors of human trafficking to CHNJ for services. This collaboration will continue to work to improve the ability of health professionals to recognize individuals who may be experiencing human trafficking and respond appropriately.

“RWJBarnabas Health has been a committed advocate for individuals who have experienced human trafficking in New Jersey for several years. In working together to further build out the system’s Anti-Human Trafficking Collaborative through this grant, we will be able to connect many more individuals experiencing human trafficking with the support that they need.”

Julia Einbond, Associate Executive Director, Covenant House Action and Research Tank (CHART)

The collaboration continues the expansion of our anti-Human Trafficking Advisory Services we are doing across North America both internally with other Covenant House sites, as well as externally with organizations such as the State of Vermont, Department of Children and Families.
