In February, we marked Black History Month by celebrating the beauty and richness of Black culture through a series of engaging and educational events.
We kicked things off with trivia sessions that tested and expanded our young people’s knowledge of Black history and culture. It was a fun and interactive way to spark conversations about the significance of the month while deepening our collective understanding.
Additionally, we hosted lunch-and-learn sessions led by both staff and youth members. These sessions highlighted key aspects of Black history, sharing powerful stories and contributions that have shaped our world.

We were also excited to partner with our friends at Broadridge to attend a special event at their location. This experience provided our youth with an opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions, connect with a broader network, and gain valuable insights into the impact of Black leaders across industries.

Our Youth Action Board focused on honoring Black History Month by engaging in conversations about the history of housing and its current state. They explored how historical policies shaped housing opportunities and examined the ongoing challenges and progress within communities today.
Throughout the month, we embraced the beauty of Black culture—honoring its history, amplifying its voices, and celebrating its lasting influence. We are proud of the meaningful discussions and experiences shared and look forward to continuing this important work.
