FAQ’s

What if I don’t identify as my assigned gender, will I have a safe place to sleep?

CHNJ is a safe place for all youth. Youth can sleep on the gendered floor to which they feel identified with. This assignment will be discussed at the point of intake.

What are the meal hours and what if I am at work during meal hours?

9-9:30, 12-1pm, 5pm-6pm. We will save a meal when we know you are off site working, in school or at a planned appointment.

Can I receive mail or use the Covenant House as my home mailing address while I am living there?

Yes

Can I be employed while living as a resident?

Yes
