Bobby Williams – Honoree and Board Chairman Covenant House New Jersey

Bobby Williams has been a dedicated supporter of CHNJ since our inception even dating back prior to our Newark shelter being built. For 15 years he has been the Board Chairman, providing guidance and leadership to help thousands of youth facing homelessness here in NJ.

In addition to his wonderful leadership, Bobby has also been a champion of and yearly participant in our Sleep Out movement since the first one in 2011. Bobby has personally contributed and also helped raise significant funds to aid us in providing food, shelter and many additional services to the youth we serve. Thank you, Bobby!

Learn more about our Beacon of Hope recipients

The Beacon of Hope Award is given to our partners who are doing extraordinary things to support our work and our community. 1Huddle has supported us in a variety of ways. As an IT company located near our Youth Engagement Center in Newark, they have provided our youth and staff with engaging software to better support our efforts in the Dove Learning Center (DLC).

They have also volunteered at the DLC working directly with our youth. They have also been active in our Sleep Outs including support from the senior leadership of Sam Caucci, CEO, and Jahmila Williams, Director of Social Impact. You can hear from them on their passion for helping CHNJ in this video.

Saint Joseph has had a committed student body to support us. They were our first school to participate in our Student Sleep Out efforts and have grown to our largest including one year where 270 students slept out to support our work out of a student body population of roughly 450! They appreciated the similarities in the work each organization does – short term education and support for youth to achieve longer term success as adults. Thank you, John Asselta – Director of Performing Arts, for being a long time friend to us and for connecting us in such a special way to Saint Joseph.
