Lost Car Makes New Supporter

Camille McIntosh, Starbucks Store Manager, could not remember where she parked her car in Newark. She came through our doors at CHNJ asking for help, and ended up falling in love with our work. After being greeted at the door, Camille immediately asked about our work and mission. She met some of our youth and staff, took a tour, and with that, her commitment to our young people was established.

Since then, Camille hosted a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday breakfast for our youth and staff. The feast included both Starbucks and homemade foods, plus festive decorations. Camille also organized a Job Fair at the residential crisis center. More recently, she set up a MLK Day poster contest for our youth with a 1st and 2nd place gift basket and gift card prizes.

But it doesn’t end there! To top it all off, as a Starbucks Store Manager, Camille submitted CHNJ for a Starbucks Neighborhood Grant. The program supports grassroots, community-led nonprofit organizations based on employee nominations. Starbucks awarded CHNJ with a $5,000 donation. What an incredible person Camille is, and a generous company Starbucks is. We cannot thank Camille enough – and we look forward to what she comes up with next!
