It Takes a Village…

We know that it takes a village to do our work in supporting youth facing homelessness and survivors of human trafficking. We are always so grateful for that support from our community. In November, that support occurred for two of our key Sleep Outs – Sleep Out: Executive Edition and Sleep Out: Atlantic City Community Edition which united community leaders, executives, advocates, and caring participants to make a difference.

Together, these dedicated supporters raised almost $1.7 million. The funds generated during these events would not have been possible without the dedication and generosity of the participants who gave up their bed for one night to help CHNJ. Their commitment has a critical impact in providing shelter to an average of 216 youth each night around the state.

We are immensely grateful to all our supporters and corporations who participated in and contributed to these events, including the NY Giants, Chick-fil-A, Samsung, Accenture, Cisco, Anywhere Gives and the Atlantic City casino industry. The Executive Edition saw executives spend the night at MetLife Stadium, standing in solidarity with those facing homelessness. Due to a steady rain, many slept in the confines of the stadium. Some toughed it out in the elements. At the same time, the Atlantic City Community Edition engaged corporate and local businesses and community advocates in a heartfelt atmosphere of shared purpose.

Thank you to our entire “village”, but a special thank you to our Sleep Out participants for standing with us to make a difference in the lives of youth facing homelessness and victims of human trafficking. Your support truly makes a difference!
